Wish List: Four Products I Need In My Life!

With all the stress that comes the week before the Super Bowl, a girl has got to chill out. When I relax, I like to read reviews, watch videos, and browse for what’s new in beauty. And of course, that makes me want to buy everything. I have been doing these wish list posts for awhile now, and I find they help me actually narrow down what is important to me. These are some questions you need to ask yourself when looking at makeup/skincare. Do I have something like this at home? Is this something I will get good use out of? Is this even for my skin type? Those are three questions I always ask myself. It was really hard for me to not buy all of the GlamGlow masks, but the reality is, my super dry skin wouldn’t really benefit from the SuperMud. Luckily for me, the Thirsty Mud works amazing for me!

So, these are four things that I have decided need to be in my life. Some aren’t even available in Canada yet… (damn you internet for getting me excited for something I can’t have yet!)

Rimmel Apocolips Lip Velvet in Atomic Rose: I absolutely love this shade. I watched a girl on YouTube apply this, and I fell in love recently. As you maybe already know, I am having an obsession with peachy pink lips, and this has my name all over it.

Smashbox Contour Stick Trio: This is something I want for myself, but also for my freelance kit. These sticks are crazy creamy, and don’t make the skin look heavy. Next time I see these in store, they are coming home with me. Perfect colors, with a slightly warmer bronzer, and more cool contour color. Smashbox has really been stepping up the game with their contouring products, and I am loving it!

Marc Jacobs VIB Rouge Lip Creme: Ok, ok… Before you all remind me that I don’t actually care for the Marc Jacobs lipsticks, just look at the red packaging. Look at it, and understand why I need this as a vanity piece. The packaging of this lipstick is so beautiful, I really don’t think it would matter what the formula is like. I need another red lipstick like I need a hole in the head. I am aware that this is a completely unnessacary product, but that will not stop me from buying it. I have been so responsible lately with my beauty spending, so it’s time for me to splurge a little bit!

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask: I cannot WAIT for this to be available in Canada. I saw a You Tuber from the UK review this, and I immediately called my local Body Shop. She told me that this won’t be launching in Canada until about mid February, so with baited breath I will wait. The texture of this looks so interesting, that I can’t help but try it. And my GlamGlow Thirsty Mud is almost gone, so I will need a new hydrating mask for overnight.

Those are the four things I am lusting over lately … What do you guys have your eyes on?

Thanks for reading!

Wish List: Four items I am lusting over!

This post is hard to write. As we all know by now, I am not allowed to purchase any makeup until January 1st 2015, and given that one item in this post is part of a holiday collection, I could just cry. I love doing these posts, because when I really sit down and think about what I am lusting over, I am always surprised. It’s usually not the newest thing that everyone is raving about. Trust me, I have way more than four, but if I had to narrow it down, these are the four things that would come home with me tomorrow.

1.) Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighter: OMG this is just so beautiful. It looks like it would give off more of a cool toned silver highlight, and I don’t have anything like this in my collection. If I miss this purchase because of my cosmetic ban, I will be super disappointed! This is part of the 2014 Chanel Holiday collection!

2.) Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eye Palette – Eye on Neutral: This is something I can’t believe I don’t already own. I love matte shadows, especially neutrals, and I know for sure I could get a brow powder out of this as well. It’s pretty much a palette made for me, and I will be purchasing this come January!

3.) Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation: Another thing that I pick up every single time I am at a Laura Mercier counter. I’ve heard nothing but awesome things about this and I’m not sure why I haven’t taken the plunge yet! Has anybody used this before? Give me the details!

4.) Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream: I have tried the hand salve, and the body lotion from this brand and I was blown away. If this cream could tackle my dry skin during the winter time, it would be worth it’s weight in gold. Kiehl’s is a hard product to get in Halifax, but next time I have the opportunity I am going to jump on this!!

There it is, my top 4 products on my wishlist.

What have you been lusting over lately?

Products on my wishlist! High End Edition!

Everyone has a wish list. If you’re anything like Sabah, you actually have a mental and hard copy list ready at all times, in case you ever find yourself in a situation that you just need to buy something for yourself, or someone needs a quick gift idea. Not saying that I will be purchasing all four of these, but I can definitely say I will be looking into all of them aggressively, and making my choices soon!

1.) Marc Jacobs Kiss Pop Lip Color Stick ($35.00 CAD) These little sticks look so freakin’ cute, I can’t even stand it. The color range looks amazing, and I have been happy enough with everything Marc Jacobs, which makes me want this even more. Seriously, how cute are these lippies!?

2.) GLAM GLOW Power Mud Dual Cleanse Treatment ($76.00 CAD) I have also been very impressed with everything I have tried from GLAM GLOW. Combine that with my obsession for facial oils of all kinds, and this looks like a match made in heaven. I pick this up everytime I see it in stores, and I am impressed that I haven’t taken the plunge yet. I am still working through my Thirsty Mud GLAM GLOW mask, so maybe when that one is gone I will cave!

3.) Marc Jacobs Bronzer Brush No 12 ($94.00 CAD) I can almost hear Sabah shuddering when she reads this. I have been lusting over this brush for over a year. Every single time I see it I have to go visit it, and feel it, and make her feel it. It’s so beautiful, but $94.00 for a brush is taking me a little while to get used to. It’s not helping that all of the You Tube gurus that I watch are raving about it, and with my birthday coming up soon, I might just have to treat myself. For $94.00, it better apply my bronzer like a dream, clean itself, and unload the dishwasher for me.

4.) Smashbox Master Class Palette Color and Contour ($72.00 CAD) The next time I see this, it’s mine. I realize it’s limited edition, and I have to move on it fast. I might even buy two of these. One for me, and one for my freelance kit. It is so compact, and gives you so many colors, blush, highlight, contour, bronzer … It’s like a face in a box. No wasted space on cream liners, or lip products (I hate those so much in palettes!) And, it provides you with awesome plastic covers for either side, which will really protect them from breaking, and reduce any fallout between shades. This is something every makeup junkie should own. Everyday that passes, I get more and more upset that I don’t own it yet. (UPDATE: I actually purchased this before this blog post went up… I couldn’t get it off of my mind, and my retailer only had 12 left! I panicked and made an emergency trip to buy it!) Review coming soon!!

What things are on your wishlists?

Wish List Purchases: YSL Shocking Mascara.

I live in a constant state of jealousy that Sara has found her Holy Grail mascara in Lancôme Hypnose. I’ve been on a voyage for the last 15 years for a mascara that would curl my lashes and my toes. Side note that my lashes are a decent length but have zero natural curl and stand directly out from my lid. Oh and the ends are blonde making the appear shorter. I’ve tried everything from Essence to now YSL. I had recently written about products I need to give in and buy and well I did, I bit the bullet and bought YSL’s Shocking Mascara. I really like this mascara. Shocking holds my curl, has minimal clumping and does a decent job of not flaking all over my face. I like that this comes off easily with cleanser but survived a particularly heart wrenching episode of Game of Thrones without me looking like an extra in a Motley Crew video. I have zero regrets about this mascara, I’m likely even going to buy it again. I’m happy with this product….unfortunately it is not my holy grail. The hunt continues my friend for a mascara that is going to rock my world, curl my lashes and curl my toes.

I need to know ladies. What is your holy grail mascara?!
