Cult Classic Confession: L’oreal Voluminous Mascara!

I think I am finally ready to talk about this publically. It is a very un-favored opinion, but it has to be said. L’Oreal Voluminous mascara is one of the absolute worst mascaras I have ever used in my life. Like it makes me sociopathic when I try to use it. It is way too wet, and it makes my lashes buddy up with each other, and I end up looking like I have four big lashes on each eye. Not to mention I look like an extra in an Alice Cooper music video by the end of the day. I have tried to layer this with other mascaras, and it just doesn’t work for me at all. I have tried to let the formula thicken up a little bit before using it, and that doesn’t work. It is just impossible for me to use.

If this mascara works for you, I am happy for you. Because I know the people that love it, love it. And the people that hate it, really hate it. I know that Sabah shares my distain for this, so I must not be alone. What do you guys think? Love it or hate it?

Cult Classic Confessions: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

So…Have you ever had a product that you felt had something personally against you? Like it was trying to be hurtful and awful? That’s what this product did to me. It destroyed my face. The analogy I usually
use when describing this is imagine taking a battery and cracking it open. Now I want you to smear
the acid that lives in the battery all over your face. That’s what this product does to me. I’m talking full
face breakout. That being said, I still occasionally wear it. I’m the girl from 27 dresses, I’ve been in a
lot of weddings. I typically do my own makeup ever since one makeup artist forgot my foundation…

Anyway I know that the Smashbox primer is the best on the market. It delivers everything you want it
to, smooth makeup application and lasting power therefore when it comes to wedding season I know to
brace for the post wedding breakout. After a wedding last summer, after one day of use I had a total of 17 angry painful blemishes. I have another wedding in June of this year, if I’m brave enough I’ll post a pic for you guys to see the warzone that will be my face.

Another Cult Classic Confession …

As someone who loves groups, and lists, and being in the loop, it always kills me when I try a Cult favorite product and I am less than thrilled. Awhile ago, we talked about Danah’s confession. She wasn’t a fan of Orgasm Blush. Now it’s my turn. I hate the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars. * Heavy Breath * I feel better now that I said it out loud. These Lip Tars are on so many people’s must have lists, that I am shocked at how much I don’t like them. I even got the full run down on them before I took them home, so I would know exactly how to use them. (Sometimes it’s all about application and it’s not the products fault!) After applying a clear lip liner, I used the tiniest amount, using the brush meant to apply them, I waited for it to dry and set before adding a gloss on top (Oil-based as recommended) This was around 2:30. After about an hour, I looked at my lips, and had an obnoxious red lip line around my mouth, and zero color in the centre of my lip. I called Danah over to look at them, and she confirmed. I was mortified. So I have tried them again, using different shades, using no gloss on top, with and without liner … And they just don’t last on me. Stila’s stay all day liquid lipstick lasts way longer, and it is very similar to work with. These Tar’s are expensive, so I will continue to try to work with them, but for now, I have four very expensive body paints! FML …
