Makeup products that rocked my world in 2013!

Every year – it’s fun to go through your makeup bag, and see what really stuck it through. Pull out some older products that you loved and used religiously through the entire past year. That’s what I was doing this morning, I took a shot of all my gems, and here they are. 2013 Favorite makeup products.

1.) Urban Decay Naked Palette: This is a no brainer and has been a favorite of mine since I’ve had it. I use this for natural or dramatic looks, I use the shade “Naked” to fill my brows in, and it makes this an extremely travel friendly product.

2.) Lancôme Hypnose mascara: Now, there are many members in the Hypnose family, but old faithful for me has been the original formula. Now, normally the packaging is black and not filled with eyeballs, but this particular tube was apart of a limited edition collection. My best success story with this mascara, is when Sabah and I went to the beach and I obviously went swimming. I was under the water almost the whole time, and when I got out of there, we couldn’t believe how perfect my mascara (and my foundation, that you will meet in a minute) held up. Holy Grail status.

3.) Maybelline Baby Lips #15 Cherry Me: This is my second tube of this perfectly tinted, moisturizing lip balm. And that first tube, I dug at with a q-tip for awhile. I was so proud to finish a tube of lip product, but when it was finally over, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. This is also the only Baby Lips color that seems to work for me. I find the others are a bit chalky and drying to the lips, but this formula knocks my socks off. And it’s practically free.

4.) NARS Dolce Vita lipstick: I got this in the Superstars kit from Sephora over the holidays, so this was a late favorite of 2013. If  was to apply this color to my bottom lip only, you would be able to notice some shine and a hair more color. It’s my perfect “My lips but better” shade.

5.) Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser #60 Brightening Shade: This product is one of the best I have tried for concealing/highlighting. Better than Touché éclat, better than Maybelline’s Dream Lumi, and better than MAC Pro Longwear. (Even though that last one does have some serious coverage.) The pinky undertones of this serum textured concealer makes it a dream to blend, and creasing is minimal even on my lined 107 year old eyes.

6.)Dior Rosy Glow Blush in 001 Petal: This was a product that Sabah bought for me, in one of our ridiculous cosmetic bartering sessions. (I see you have that product I want, you haven’t used it, I’ll buy you this product if I can have that product) Seriously, it’s exhausting. But, in this case, totally worth it. This blush lasts longer on me than my foundation, longer than my NARS blushes even. It gives me the perfect glow,  but it does have a ton of pigment, so a light hand is best.

7.) Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder “Highlight -01”: I had such anxiety over buying this product. It retails for about $45 CAD and I was sick for days after I bought it. After hours of complaining to Sabah and Almira, and seriously contemplating returning it, I cracked the seal and swiped some on my cheeks with a fan brush. Bells rang, fireworks went off … it was a seriously party at my vanity that morning. And I have been aggressively using this ever since. Having skin that’s more dry than my humour, I can pretty much use this as a face powder. I would definitely repurchase, but I haven’t seem to have made a dent in this one yet.

8.) Clarins Everlasting Foundation Shade 109 Wheat: This stuff has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. Matte, full coverage, yet still looks like skin and doesn’t make my face feel tight after applying it. I like to apply this with a Beauty Blender or my hands, and finish with some fix plus from MAC. Tip with this foundation … even if you usually do concealer first then foundation … put this down first. You will be surprised at the coverage, and will end up needing less concealer.

What were your favorite products of 2013?! Any Game Changers?
